At The Gary Residence, you’ll find a welcoming, congenial atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
In addition to catching up with friends over dinner, you’ll find there’s always a bridge partner nearby, or someone ready to accept your challenge to a game of Scrabble. Individuals with similar interests in music, reading, or current events naturally gravitate to each other, forming groups to share their thoughts on a regular basis. Our small size allows our residents to feel like family, and they receive the support they need to continue living a productive and meaningful life.
You’ll love the homelike environment of our Victorian residence. Our cheery sunroom, large living room, and comfortable library are perfect for group activities, relaxing, and entertaining family and friends, while our open dining room makes mealtimes pleasant and easy. These common areas add a touch of bright modernity to our historic home.
Getting around is easy at The Gary Residence. Located in downtown Montpelier, we are within walking distance to the public library, senior center, and post office, as well as a variety of banks, churches, hair salons, shops, and restaurants. Residents come and go as they please, and they make meaningful connections within the community. We also provide private transportation to medical appointments and local events in our Ford Transit Van.
Home to a local book group, lively house discussions, trivia games and private visits, this space also includes a perpetual jigsaw puzzle.

This large, comfortable room is flooded with bright sun and is a popular place to relax and visit. It is home to our many parties, games and entertainment.
Our spacious dining room is perfect for sharing meals with friends and connecting with others. Residents often enjoy cooking and food preparation activities in the dining room and kitchen. For a nominal charge, residents may invite guests to join them for meals.
Our exterior grounds are undergoing extensive renovations to make room for Clara’s Garden, our new Memory Care wing. This will include a walking path and outside terrace.
