Housekeeper
Shifts Available: Full-time Mondays – Fridays 7:30am – 4:00pm
The Gary Residence is seeking a Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of care and compassion; effective communication skills; and strong organizational skills. The preferred candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities and maintain professional rapport while interacting with patients, residents, public and other facility staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Light housekeeping, including: making resident beds, removing trash from resident apartments, folding resident laundry, keeping facility restrooms and common areas clean and tidy, etc.
- Follow housekeeping policies and infection control standards.
- Encourage residents to attend and participate in a variety of activities.
- Use all chemicals appropriately on the right surface with the proper dilution rate.
- Observes for and informs RN promptly about any changes in resident health/condition, behavior or needs.
- Practices patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with residents.
- Other housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience interacting with elderly.
- Willingness to learn and complete on-the-job training and utilize The Best Friends™ approach to care.
- A desire and commitment to teamwork and effective communication.
- Ability to operate equipment such as a vacuum and any other housekeeping equipment.
- Must pass appropriate background checks and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Pay: $20.00– $22.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Waitstaff
Shifts Available: Part-time Mondays – Sundays 4:00pm – 7:30pm
The Gary Residence is seeking waitstaff to join our dining services team. The individual selected for this position will have a willingness to learn, enjoy working with the senior population, and is able to work evenings, weekends, & holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting residents and guests.
- Taking and facilitating meal orders.
- Clearing and resetting tables.
- Performing related set-up and shift side work.
- Wash dishes.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior customer service experience.
- A desire to provide high quality service to our residents.
- Must pass appropriate background checks and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
