The living accommodations at Clara’s Garden are purpose-built, designed for comfort and calm with soothing lighting and colors, and a single-floor layout with apartments and common areas situated in a circular pathway to avoid dead-end spaces. The soothing décor and ample privacy of the units, combined with close-by amenities, ensures your loved one’s needs are always met.

Financial Information
We’re here to help ease your loved one’s transition to Memory Care by offering an easy, straightforward application process.
To join the Priority Waiting List, we require a refundable $1,000 deposit. There is no buy-in or entrance fee. Upon move-in, this deposit is applied towards the one-time Community Fee of $2,500.
The monthly fee includes 24/hour staffing, medication management, 3 meals a day, transportation to medical and other appointments, cleaning and laundry service, personal care assistance, emergency response system, professional nursing assessments and care planning, health and wellness programs, and social, recreational, and cultural activity programs.
The options for accommodations at Clara’s Garden are semi-private or private rooms. Each room has a full bathroom and individually controlled heating and air conditioning.

Become a Resident at Clara’s Garden
Steps to becoming a resident:
1. Contact us.
Call 1-802-223-3881 to arrange an appointment.
2. Get on the list.
Download and complete the Priority Waiting List Agreement and submit a fully refundable deposit of $1,000. At this time your unit choice may be reserved.
3. Fill out an application.
Complete the Application for Residency packet and the Financial and Medical Information forms. Please contact our office to obtain these forms.
Complete and submit the Release for Medical Information form and schedule an appointment for a medical assessment with our Resident Care Director.

Who owns The Gary Residence?
The Gary Residence is owned/operated under O.M. Fisher Home, Inc. a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable foundation governed by a local board of trustees. O.M. Fisher Home, Inc. was established in 1919 and owns/operates Westview Meadows at Montpelier, as well. O.M. Fisher Home, Inc. was established in 1919 and The Gary Residence was built in 1941.
Who is eligible to live at Clara’s Garden at The Gary Residence?
Individuals age 62 and older who are experiencing some form of memory loss.
Is there a waiting list for The Gary Residence?
There is a Priority List program if you want to be considered for a particular unit or if you want to plan several years in advance for your future.
How long must I commit to living at The Gary Residence?
Most residents stay on a long-term basis. However, a 30-day residency agreement is signed by all residents or their Power of Attorney.
May I bring my own furniture?
Yes, your unit is yours to furnish and decorate as you wish.
What if my health changes?
We understand that health changes are part of aging. Should we not be able to meet your needs, we have worked with other high quality health care providers in the area and will help you coordinate those services.
Can my family have dinner with me?
Absolutely! Family and friends are always welcome at The Gary Residence. Our Residential Care and Memory Care Programs each have their own dining rooms, with extra room. Just speak with our staff to make arrangements.
Can I bring my dog or cat?
Unfortunately, Clara’s Garden residents are not able to have pets.
Does my physician need to be involved in the application process?
We do ask that your personal physician complete a health assessment form for our staff. Our Resident Care Director will also meet with you to help determine the appropriate level of care for you, and upon admission will complete your individual care plan.
What levels of care are offered at The Gary Residence?
We offer licensed Residential Care and Specialized Unit Memory Care.
Can my spouse live with me if they don’t need Residential Care? Is this appropriate for Memory Care?
Our memory care program offers a holistic approach for specific needs, and therefore would not be an appropriate setting for someone who does not experience memory loss.
