Shifts Available: Full time (rotating)
The Gary Residence is seeking a full-time Chef/Cook for our Dining Services Department. The individual selected for this position will cook/prepare meals for 30+/- residents. Meals are cooked from scratch using local Vermont products. Candidate must maintain the cleanliness and preparedness of the kitchen, will utilize the dishwasher, and will perform cleaning assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and serve meals to residents.
- Receive and store incoming supplies.
- Produce daily breads, breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items.
- Produce catering menu items as needed.
- Produce daily lunch/dinner soups
- Support other cooks with prep.
Qualifications:
- Commercial cooking experience preferred or domestic cooking experience with large groups.
- Enjoy working with older adults.
- ServSafe Certificate required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required, with reading, comprehension and writing ability at a 12th-grade level or higher.
- Must pass appropriate background checks and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
